Objects Extraordinaire

Objects Extraordinaire was a process to explore the significance of the material things around me.  The object drawings involved a daily practice of selecting an item from the studio or home and then rendering them in pencil on small torn pieces of paper.  This exploration through drawing heightened my awareness of my physical surrounding and possessions.  It brought into focus the relevance of material acquisitions as representations of the self.  What we choose to keep or what we wish to acquire gives expression to one’s identity.  As a result of this visual inventory, I am awed by the boundless creative expressions of mankind that these objects represent.
