Torso
The concept for Torso was initially derived from the female model dress forms used to create clothes. On the model stand, an identity is fashioned. The material, style, embellishments, come together to express one’s self-perception, whether it be a true reflection of self, or a desired image to be projected. The body of work presented is from a female reference that may connote concepts of strength, nature, and body image.
It is the variety and seemingly endless expression between form, support, and interior, that compels me to explore a woman’s identity construction.
